10. Isabella of Castile

Born in 1451 and died in 1504, Isabella the Catholic, was queen of Castile and León. Her husband was Ferdinand II of Aragon. Both of them worked really hard to bring stability in the kingdom. Isabella and Ferdinand completed the Reconquista, and ordered the exile of their Muslim and Jewish subjects and financed Christopher Columbus’ 1492 voyage that could lead to open the “New World”. Isabella is also titled as Servant of God by the Catholic Church in 1974.

Mary I, born on 1516 and died on 1558, was the Queen of England and Ireland. She ruled the two nations from July 1553 until her death. She was titled as’ Bloody Mary’ because of her aggressive style of protest. She is reminded for her violent behavior with the people of England.

8. Mary Ann Cotton

The first serial killer of Britain, Mary Ann Cotton was born in 1832 in Low Moorsley, County Durham. She got married at the age of 2- with William Mowbray. She gave birth to five kids, four out of which died of gastric fever and stomach pain. Her husband also died of an intestinal disorder in 1865. Mary’s second husband, George Ward also had severe intestinal disorder. According to resources, Mary moved around northern England. In total, she had lost three husbands, a lover, a friend, her mother and a dozen children. Finally, she was hanged at Durham County Gaol, in 1873, for murdering all her family members.

Born in 1560 and died in 1614, Countess Elizabeth Báthory de Ecsed belonged to a Báthory family of Kingdom of Hungary. She is known as one of the most prolific female serial killers of all time. She is titled as the “Blood Countess.” She used to murder peasant girls by beating, burning, and cutting their body parts.

Born in 1906, Ilse Koch is famous as “Die Hexe von Buchenwald” and “Buchenwälder Schlampe”. She married to Karl-Otto Koch. She was the first Nazi tried by the US military. She is said to be addict of wine and heroine, due to which she used to torture and abuse her husband seriously. She committed suicide at Aichach women’s prison in 1967.
