It is a tough task to even attempt a remake, but Bollywood filmmakers are perfectionists in this regard. Every now and then, various Bollywood films are released which are actually the remake of either a Hollywood film or an old Bollywood film. This movie was on 7th November, 2014. If you have watched this film, then you must have noticed that it is a remake of 1982 Hindi film Shaukeens, which was a fantastic comedy film of all time. The Shau was the greatest age comedy of its time. This movie stars Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra and Anupam Kher and Akshay Kumar, and Lisa Haydon.
9. Heropanti
This film stars debutant Tiger Shroff and debutante Kriti Sanon. It is directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. This film is the remake of Telugu film Parugu that starred Allu Arjun. Heropanti was released on May 23, and has been a hit film.
8. Kick
This has been one of the major hits of Salman Khan during 2014. This film was produced by one of Salman’s friends, Sajid Nadiadwala. The film stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Salman Khan, of course. It is the remake of the Telugu film of the same name.
7. Holiday
This film stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. It is the remake of a Tamil Film Thuppakki. The director of this film is A.R Murugadoss, and how wonderful that he was the director of the that Tamil movie as ell. This film was released on June 6.
6. Tevar
Tevar stars Arjun Kapoor, and Sonakshi Sinha starrer. This film is the remake of Telugu film Okkadu that stars Mahesh Babu, and Bhoomika Chawla. Tevar was released on January 9, 2014.
5. Pizza
Siddharth Roy Kapur and Bejoy Nambiar are the producers of this thriller. It stars Akshay Oberoi, Parvathy Omanakuttan, and Dipannita Sharma in the lead roles, and Arunoday Singh, Rajesh Sharma, Omkar Das Manikpuri, and Sonali Sachdev in the supporting roles. This film is the remake of a Tamil film of the same name. The movie was released in July.
4. Khoobsurat
This romantic comedy stars Sonam Kapoor and debutant Fawad Khan. Khoobsurat is the remake of 1980’s Indian film of the same name that starred Rekha. This movie didn’t impress Bollywood fans, but did good business abroad. It is a direction of Shashanka Gosh and produced by Anil Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor and Siddharth Roy Kapur.
3. Action Jackson
This film stars Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha. It is the remake of a Telugu movie named Dookudu starring Mahesh Babu. Action Jackson is likely to do good business on box-office.
2. Main Tera Hero
This film stars father-son duo David Dhawan and Varun Dhawan for the first time. It also has Ileana D’Cruz and Nargis Fakhri in the lead roles. The film was a remake of Telugu film Kandireega.
1. Jai Ho
Salman Khan starrer Jai Ho was the remake of the 2006’s Telugu film Stalin. It has been a direction of Sohail Khan and produced by Sohail Khan Productions. The movie’s basic plot is inspired from Pay it Forward. Jai Ho was released in January.
